Principal Consultant
18+ years of U.S. Army weapons acquisition leadership — now working for the Defense Industrial Base, the Legal Sector, and the U.S. Government.

Wes Asay
Wes Asay is the founder and Principal Consultant of Warfighter Enterprise Solutions, LLC — a Veteran-Owned Small Business delivering senior-level production, quality, acquisition, and cybersecurity consulting across three interrelated constituencies: the U.S. Defense Industrial Base, the Legal Sector, and the U.S. Government.
With 18+ years of direct U.S. Army weapons acquisition experience, Wes has served at the highest levels of Army production and quality leadership — overseeing the manufacturing, testing, and acceptance of primary combat weapon systems across the Soldier Lethality portfolio.
His unique perspective — gained through decades of bridging contractor operations, Government acquisition requirements, and the legal framework that governs defense contracting — gives clients the insider understanding required to win contracts, clear DCMA barriers, protect program schedules, maintain “Blue” CPAR ratings, and defend their technical position in litigation.
“I’ll be taking the next few months to spend time with family and transition into this next chapter. Formal consulting engagements will begin in October 2026.”
Wes retired from Federal service in April 2026. Between now and October 2026, he is focused on family, networking, and preliminary consulting discussions with prospective clients across the Defense Industrial Base (Lane A), the Legal Sector (Lane B), and the U.S. Government (Lane C). Formal WES, LLC engagements begin October 2026.
Government engagements operate under Lane C — Strategic Procurement & Portfolio Management Oversight: senior independent advisory to Program Managers, PEOs, and Program Executive-level leadership — not staffing or augmentation. WES, LLC maintains a strict operational boundary between Lane C and the industry-facing lanes (Lanes A and B) to safeguard independence and avoid any position of advising both sides of the same procurement action.
Key Government Roles
Oversaw manufacturing, testing, and acceptance of primary combat weapon systems across the small/medium caliber and tactical artillery portfolios.
Provided direct production and quality oversight for the entire portfolio of U.S. Army Soldier Lethality weapons programs.
Led the development and implementation of defense contractor assessment and certification validation for CMMC 2.0 and NIST SP 800-171 compliance.
A Growing Team of Senior Subject-Matter Experts
WES, LLC launches with Wes Asay as Principal Consultant — and is actively building a growing team of senior subject-matter experts to join the firm as operations spin up through October 2026 and beyond.
As the firm scales, decades of additional Federal-service expertise will be added across production, quality, acquisition, cybersecurity, and sustainment disciplines. High-value SMEs with direct DoD and Army acquisition credibility are being sought and onboarded to match client demand — giving clients access to a bench of senior advisors, not a single consultant.
Our Core Principles
Mission Integrity
Every engagement is guided by a singular objective — delivering capability to the warfighter. We do not take on work that compromises that outcome.
Technical Precision
Production, quality, and cybersecurity advisory grounded in first-hand Army acquisition experience — not theory.
Contract Discipline
Clearly scoped engagements — project-based, retainer, or crisis response. All fees negotiated directly with the client. No surprise add-ons.
Confidentiality
Every client relationship is treated with the same discretion demanded by the programs we support.
